SUPERZOO 2026 was FIDERRO's first opportunity this year to put many of the products we've been working on directly in front of buyers in the U.S. market.

At Booth 7166, we brought a mix of everyday pet products — harnesses and leashes, retractable leads, light-up collars, plush toys and several newer ideas we've been developing.

Three days on a trade show floor can be tiring, but it's also very useful. You quickly find out which products make people stop, which details they ask about, and sometimes which products need more work.

Some things are easier to understand in person

One thing we paid particular attention to in Las Vegas was how people think about walking products.

Harness or collar? Fixed leash or retractable? What works for a small dog isn't necessarily what owners of larger dogs are looking for.

These sound like simple questions, but watching products being handled and hearing buyers explain what their customers actually purchase gave us a much better reference point than looking at sales data or product listings alone.

We also had conversations about travel products, toys, materials, packaging and customization. Some were quick questions at the booth; others have continued after the show.

And that's probably the part of SUPERZOO we value most.

Not every idea needs to become a product

Trade shows are full of new products.

It's easy to walk through the halls and come back with a very long list of things you could make.

We're trying to be a little more selective.

For us, seeing something new isn't enough. We want to understand why someone would use it, whether it solves a real problem, and whether we can make it better rather than simply adding another SKU.

That applies especially as FIDERRO expands beyond dog and cat products into travel, small-animal products and other categories.

Back to work

We came back from Las Vegas with new contacts, useful feedback and, inevitably, a longer list of things to work on.

Some existing products need small improvements. Some ideas are worth developing further. Others may stay in the notebook.

That's fine.

SUPERZOO gave us something more useful than a list of trends: a chance to compare what we're developing in China with what buyers are actually looking for in the U.S.

Now it's back to samples, drawings, materials and testing.

See you next time.
